Shawn Lasher with guests Al and John

Partly sunny and Pleasant, Water Temperature 62*.
The guys wanted to go help with bait this morning so we met at the marina at 5:15 and went to catch bait. We threw for about 30 minutes and filled the tank up. We took a short ride and set out our spread of boards and a bobber. About the time I got my last bait out we started taking hits. The morning was beautiful and calm, no boats in sight yet and it looked like the fish were there. We were catching fish but also a lot of baits were getting chased up to the surface and we were taking short hits also. We had crossed the lake and begun working the other bank when we heard our first motor. I had noticed some guys in a boat throwing for bait when we were this morning and had told my crew that they were going to find us and fish around us. It took them about an hour to find us, they saw my boat, stopped on the next point I was about to hit and started putting out their spread of baits. They turned their boat the way I was headed and proceeded to fish as if they never saw us, a hundred yards away. Now by this time of the morning there had to be about 4 or 5 boats on the whole lake, these guys have 9600 acres to fish and they cut us off, what are people thinking???? It was a good thing for the boaters that I had 3 of Alexandria's finest on board because I was pissed about these inconsiderate "fisherman" running their big motor where I was going to fish and cutting me off. Come to find out my clients had similar thoughts like I did but we shrugged it off. After the lake settled down we started catching fish again but every time a boat would run by it would turn the fish off for 30 minutes or more. The wind got pretty bad after noon keeping us from fishing other places in the lake. We ended up catching a dozen Stripers this morning and the guys kept 8 to take home for dinner. My clients enjoyed the trip, not only could they relax and catch fish but they were away from the office for a day, By 11am Shawn checked his phone for emails and he had received over 60 already this morning..... a little too hectic for me. I will take the inconsiderate boaters all day over the stress of a real job.
