Sunny and Warm, Water Temperature 82* and clear
Today I picked my crew up and went looking for Stripers. It didn't take too long before I found a smaller school which was good to set up on. We hit it and popped a couple keepers before loosing it. We got back on the motor and found some more, and more, and more. Today was just a half day charter and that's all wen needed to catch some nice limits. Not only did Ron catch a bunch of fish today he also learned how to use his new Simrad.

Another good morning of Catching

Jake, Jamie, Jeff and Jimmy

Cloudy and Pleasant, Water Temperature 81* and Clear
I picked my crew up at 5:30 then looked for a school of Stripers for an hour. All Tony and I were seeing were a fish here or there, no groups and no pattern. After burning a 1/4 tank of gas I found what we were looking for and we set up on them. A minute later the guys had no clue what had just hit them. They had only gotten 8 lines out and every one hooked up. Lines were crossed, fish were laying on the deck, drags were screaming and I was enjoying it all. While I was waiting for them to get lines ready to re-bait  I called Tony into the action. We worked on the school for about 20 minutes before we lost them. When I say we lost them, I mean we looked for 30 minutes and they were nowhere to be found. We ended up leaving that area and going back to the marina to refuel. I found some more fish around the marina and we worked on them for awhile then I later located fish hanging on the edge of the channel where we worked till we limited out. This morning was another successful outing with great results. If you want to see your face in one of these pictures, we can definitely Hook You Up!

A Good Morning on the Water

Mike, Laura, Joe and Dan

Sunny and Pleasant, Water Temperature 80* and Clear
Today was another fun morning on the water catching Stripers. Mike and his family are down visiting the lake and were able to get out and catch enough Stripers to feed all of his group for the rest of the week.

Don put Vanessa, Donna and Bubba on these nice stripers this morning.

Father and Sons

Scott, Stuart and Wes

Sunny and Pleasant, Water Temperature 80* and clear
Today Stuart got on the boat and said 'Its going to be an easy day for you today, there is only going to be 3 of us". I informed them that there was going to be nothing easy about today. The way the fish have been biting we need to have a minimum of 4 anglers on the boat just to keep up with the action. I told them they are going to work there butts off trying to keep up with the fish. We set up over a couple of fish so they could get their act together then I put them on a big school. They realized real quick what I was referring to earlier. We took 15 hits in about 3 minutes and after they confused everything in the boat we had to take a quick break and review how to do everything again. Each time they deployed lines and reeled in fish they got better and better. It eventually got to the point where I would locate a school of fish and within a minute they could get 8 rods in the water before they would hook up. When they go again they will be dialed in and ready for action. This morning we caught over 50 Stripers and they got to take home plenty of fish for the freezers.

Fishing In The Rain

Walker, Mutt, Lester, Alvin, Melvin and Shawn

Cloudy, Stormy and Rainy, Water temperature 80* and Clear
Today was an interesting day, Tony and I got out at 3 and caught bait for our clients then went back to the dock to pick them up. Tony's group showed up but my group never showed or called. Anyway, its their loss. Tony took these seasoned veterans out and put a hurt on the fish today.
Fishing is just getting better, contact us and reserve a trip today!

Mark, Sandy and Carmine

Sunny and warm, Water Temperature 81
Today we suffered a bit this morning due to the full moon. Keepers didn't start eating till about 10 but we managed to catch some nice fish. Between both boats we caught about 80 Stripers and 30 Catfish.

Had to hunt for the Stripers today

Chris, Brian, Ray, Andy, Sunny and Troy

Here is one of the nice schools we worked today.

Sunny and Hot, Water temperature 80* and Clear
This morning I pulled out of the marina and went about 200 yards and hit our first school of Stripers. I hadn't even showed the guys how to deploy the lined but we managed to catch a few out of the school before we lost them. Today fishing was tougher than usual, we had to work hard for the fish we caught. We found 4 or 5 schools but they moved very fast today.

Copper Fox Distillery and Molon Lave Vineyards

Louizos, David, Tom, Sergio, Julian and Alex

Cloudy and Pleasant, Water Temperature around 80* and Clear
Well another great morning catching fish and spending times with good people. This morning we hit 5 or 6 schools putting our limits together. It was quite a busy morning as you could imagine with all of thee Stripers. For some great spirits check out Copper Top in Sperryville and when around Warrenton stop by Molon Lave and try a flight of very tasty wine. Don't worry about scales being in your drinks, I made these guys wash their hands.

Simrad Screen Shots to Dream About

Dropping baits into a school of Stripers

Here I was running about 25mph on the left side of the screen then saw some fish and slowed down and drifted into a mega school. Once I saw on side scan most of the fish were on the left side of the boat I headed that way and spanked them.

 Another school of Stripers

Again I was running looking for schools, slowed down and banged them. The cloud of yellow in the upper water column is the disturbance in the water that my boat made when I came off plane.

 Pulling baits through a school.

Finishing up our limit on this school of Stripers

Fire Drills

Hunter, Josh, Ron, Jimmy and Brian

Sunny and Pleasant, Water Temperature 80* and Clear
This morning I caught bait then picked the guys up at 5:30. We went looking for school but it was an hour before I found what I was looking for. We set up on the fish and everyone got bit. Since it was their first set we had a few issues but at least I had located a school. After loosing it we got back on the motor and found it again, and again, and again. Every time I would stop they would try to get 2 baits in but couldn't because the Stripers would hook up before they could. We must have set up on fish 8 or 9 times. We caught a bunch of fish today and fun was had by all.

Frontal Stripers

Tony, George, Steven and Trint

Sunny, Windy and Chilly
Tony took these guys out this morning on a very windy day. They fished between the whitecaps and managed a nice limit of Stripers, quite an accomplishment for 25 to 30 mph winds. Unfortunately the fish are out in the main lake where you can not escape the wind.

I guess the Stripers fed this morning

DP took Anthony, Justin and Shane out for a couple hours before All Star practice and limited out.

Sunny and Hot, Water Temperature 81* and Clear
This morning Tony and I took a group of friends out and put the guys on some Stripers. My day started off slow but when we got on um we burnt them up! We caught so many keepers we had to double up the stringer just to hold the fish. Between DP's, Tony"s and my catches we caught over 200 Stripers by 10:30 this morning. Either we got lucky or maybe we know what we are doing. I will take luck any day.

My Three Son's

This is a picture out my office window.

Austin, Brennan, Shawn and Ryan

Sunny and Pleasant, Water Temperature 80* and Clear
Today the guys wanted to go out with me to catch bait so I got out early, hung lights then picked them up at 4. After putting 252 baits in the tank we went looking for Stripers. Today was kind of a funky day, we never got on any large schools but caught 4 or 5 here or there. I was only seeing pods of Stripers, maybe 20 together then nothing. Still didn't matter much, we had a lot of fun this morning. Shawn got to spend some quality time with his sons and they all will remember this day on the water. What a great early Fathers Day present for a great Dad.

Putting it on 'Um

Uncle Ben, Bruce, Collin and Grandad John

Bruce

Sunny and Windy, Water Temperature 80* and Clear
Today the wind was forecast to howl over 20mph so I wanted to put fish in the boat early before boat control became an issue. We started out with 240 baits and after 25 minutes of fishing I was starting to think that I had not kept enough bait, we had been going through them so fast. We covered a lot of water today, setting up on a dozen schools or more. Thanks to Tony for giving us some more baits to continue our morning trip. It was a fun morning of Striper fishing and we were able to get off the water soon after it started white capping. I think Collin would make a good boat captian by the way he was bossing everyone around today. He definitely knows how to catch Stripers.

Another Busy Morning

If you see this on your Simrad or Lowrance,
you should end up with this
below

Bob, Andy, Drew, Jen, Don, Patti

Sunny and Warm, Water Temperature 82 * and clear.
This morning I picked my clients up at 5:30 and less than 10 minutes later I was setting over a school of Stripers. Today we went through 235 baits running from school to school banging Stripers. There was so much confusion on the boat I did not even attempt to keep track of how many fish we caught today. Regardless they took their limits home. Glad to get that Monkey off of Bob's back today.

Simrad Screen Shots

This is a school of summer time Largemouth Bass that have their noses right up on the ledge of this hump.

Here is a school of Stripers susspended between 30 and 45 feet deep. Notice on the side scan fish are on both sides of the boat.

This is a shot of pulling baits [4 horizontal light blue lines around 35 feet] through a school of Stripers.

This is a shot of locating Stripers while running. On the left side of the screen I am running about 25 mph. Midway through the screen I slowed down to check them out. The surface disturbance is the boat coming off plane. Once I saw the size of the fish at a slower speed we proceeded to work on them.

Another Fishy Day on Lake Anna

Zeke, Eugene, Bob, Jim and Tony

Sunny and Hot, Water temperature 82* and Clear
This morning I caught bait and picked up Jim and his friends at High Point at 5:30. We went away from the crowds and put out a spread and started catching fish immediately. After 30 minutes we started looking for schools and found them within 5 minutes. We worked on them until Zeke lost a hummer then it was over. We located another school about 300 yards away and worked on them. After awhile we needed a break so I stopped by the marina then went out and hit school after school. It was a fun morning on the water with some fun friends. This is just the beginning of a great summer bite. Better get out and get you some, VDIGF has done a wonderful job of managing the lake and Stripers are plentiful.
