Yesterday fishing was a little slow due to the brisk North wind blowing in a cold front with bluebird skies. We would locate numerous schools of Stripers but they were lethargic and slow to eat. What saved us was the beautiful live bait which we had to put right in the fishes face to provoke a strike. This morning we all were out early to catch bait because it was slow yesterday but as soon as we hung lights the bait formed and we all had 250 baits within an hour. We picked up our clients at 5:30 and hit the water. Some of the guys found fish immediately and put a half a dozen fish in the boxes within the first 30 minutes of the morning. As a guide service we all work together as a team to locate Stripers and for the next 4 hours we would find fish, stop and catch them, then jump again and do it over and over. Although we all did well today, the horseshoe was up Bryan's butt today. Everywhere he went he caught Stripers. This morning we were on the water at 2:30 catching bait for our clients. We put 250 baits in our tanks so we would be ready for all the action the morning would bring. Good thing we did, we limited out with 28 keepers just before noon leaving only a couple baits left in the tank. That's just my boat, all the other guy's did the same. Lots of fishermen on the water this morning then around 10 it got crazy out there with weekend warriors. Weekends can be tough to fish with all the pressure from boats but using live bait certainly gives us a major advantage over anglers using just artificial's. Today we had four boats on the water looking for schools of Stripers. Once we locate a school our guides call each other so everyone can get their fill of catching fish. Today was my only day off this week but I went out to help a friend dial in his new Lowrance Live 12. Come to find out that as usual is was the transducer that was not mounted correctly. After getting it right we went over these two sunk boats out in front of High Point. Tony and Don fished this morning, both of them limiting out by 7:30. I cleaned some fish yesterday and all of the fish still had roe and sperm in their bellies which tells me the best is yet to come. This year the fish are about a month behind schedule which will make for an incredible summer of Striper fishing. Our guides are out on the water collecting baits many hours before sunrise to insure you a great morning of fishing. We start with a minimum of 200 baits and it doesn't take long to go through them. Today was a special day on the water, my good friend Brian Mohr brought on of his buddy's Cla Merideth,

former Major League pitcher for the Red Sox, Padre's and Orioles to name a few. Come to find out not only can he pitch but he can catch as well, him and his daughter Addy put on a show for the rest of the guys today. We caught and released a bunch of Stripers this morning keeping 28 nice Stripers. Don fished also  limiting out around 8 this morning. June and July are incredible months to fish Lake Anna and the action is fast and furious. Here we go...June is here and traditionally this month and July are the best months for catching Stripers on Lake Anna. The fish usually have finished with spawning and are gathering up in schools over deeper water feeding up on Herring. We locate the schools with our Simrads and Lowrances and put baits in the fishes face forcing them to come for a ride into the boat. This is by far the best time for action on the lake for catching Stripers.
