Lake Anna Stripers are Rockin!

Kelly, Joe, Vicky, Gary and Hap with Tony

Sunny and beautiful, Water Temperature 83*
Tony took his clients out this morning and put them on these nice Stripers. Summer fishing on Lake Anna can be incredible as you can see by this picture and all the pics I post on my daily journal and on Facebook. My guides and myself work together to constantly put our clients on Stripers and for them to have one of the best days of fishing that one can imagine. It is not uncommon in the summer to go out and catch 50 to 100 Stripers a morning. Yesterday I went through 300 baits by noon....that is a lot of action! Although we are booked for Fathers Day a fishing trip makes a good present and lasting memories. Contact us to reserve your special day on the Lake catching Stripers with Lake Anna Striper Guide Service, you won't regret it!

A Rainy Monday on Lake Anna

Chris, Dana, Cheryl, Melissa, Ray and Steven

Ben, Paxton and Tim with DP

Cloudy and Rain, Water Temperature 83* and clear
This morning it felt more like April than it did June with the rain and wind blowing across the lake. Although my clients were cold most of the time they didn't feel it when they were reeling in Stripers. We burnt up 300 baits this morning having a ball wrestling Stripers on Lake Anna.  Andy, Ashley, Lilly and Robert with  Bryan

Doug and Ross

Sunny and warm, Water Temperature 83* and Clear
Striper fishing continues to get better and better and June progresses. Bryan had a early morning charter and out of 25 Stripers they caught they had 20 nice keepers. His group only wanted to keep a few so the rest were released unharmed. Preacher Ross guided Doug to a limit and Tony had his hands full with his group. Everyone had a lot of fun and enjoyed being on beautiful Lake Anna. If you would like to go, contact:

Lake Anna Striper fishing is the bomb!

Justin, Scott, Patricia, Liam, Danny and Jacob

Sunny and Warm, Water Temperature 83* and clear.
This morning I put 240 baits in the tanks, picked up my clients and went searching for schools of Stripers. We looked for about 15 minutes and set up on a few pods of fish but I believe the cold front that blew through yesterday messed the bite up for awhile. About 9 o'clock Tony called and said he found the mother load so I went to him to see what he was talking about. We set up on them with 10 downlines and for the next two hours straight we constantly reeled in fish. What I mean by that is we had 3 or 4 Stripers on a once for over 2 hours! Thankfully Tony brought us 150 more baits before we ran out. Patricia was manning two rods in the back of the boat and literally before she could get both in the water one would hook up. I believe she actually got frustrated because it was too much action! She and the rest of the crew worked together as a team to keep on the school and catch so many Stripers. This morning we took at least 350 hits and who knows how many fish we actually boated. This kind of fishing is as intense as it gets. Once everyone understands hot to deploy the baits to the exact depth the game is on. Hard to imagine what it is like without actually experiencing it in person. Thanks to Scott and Danny for helping remove the fish so we could keep baits in the water.  If you want to try this kind of fishing get a crew of people and we will hook you up.

A Saturday morning on Lake Anna

This is what a school of Stripers look like. The left screen is using fish reveal and the right side is traditional sonar set at 200khz. Fish Reveal shows the larger fish in the school as bright yellow where 200khz shows the larger fish with a red core. Notice how much more defined the reveal is!

Sidescan pic of the same school. Both of these pics were taken after the chaos had called down and after all the fish were taken care of..Wish I had time to snap a shot when we were all hooked up.

Stripers up on a shallow hump.

Lake Anna Stripers Thursday Morning

 Guess we found them today???

Don and Bubba put Chase, Kenneth, Lisa and Hunter on the Stripers
today.

 Anthony, Bobby, Jerry and "Bat"

Hunter, Tripp and Irvin had fun with Tony today

Dale put Henry [above] and Josh [below] on some quality fish

Cloudy and Warm, Water Temp 82* and  clear
This morning I located a school of Stripers [above screen shot] on my Simrad and as we were deploying the baits I called out on my radio to the other guys and they came a running. As we were reeling in fish Don came first and sat down not far from us and hooked up numerous rods. Tony drug his feet coming to us but he got about 300 yards from us and slammed on the brakes because that was how big the school of Stripers were. Dale showed up trolling and I glanced at all our boats and it looked like fire drills with everyone reeling in fish and running around boats. In the madness I kept hearing people hollering fish on and laughing  from all the boats. We were able to follow the school for about an hour before we ran out of bait and all of us had to go catch more. After catching bait we located numerous other schools and wore our clients out reeling in Stripers.

difference in fishing versus catching is, contact us.

Lake Anna Stripers for Tuesday

Don didn't have a trip today but he wanted to stay on the Stripers
so he took Bubba, Seth, Vanessa and Donna out looking for
new schools of fish. Problem is there are so many Stripers
and we know how to catch them we don't have to look much.

 Bryan

Cloudy and warm, Water temperature 81* and Clear
I needed to help Bryan do a couple things on his boat so at 11 we decided to go out and take care of his issues. While we were out Don called and said we should go catch some bait he was all over huge schools of Stripers. Naturally we could not resist so we went in search of daytime bait. Murphy's law states that if someone is catching them like Don was bait would be hard to find and it definitely was the case today. After an hour we had enough for what we needed and went out looking for fish. We tripped over a school after looking for five minutes and tried to deploy the baits before they would get hit but the fish were not liking the baits close to them and would hit them immediately. It sure was fun watching Bryan running around the boat trying to keep up with bent over rods and drags screaming. We threw about thirty away then decided to keep some for us to eat. All of this action within 45 minutes in the middle of the day, thankfully it was cloudy and a major feed was going on. Don had similar action and did not fish for long either. When we caught our bait they were done and swimming in the lake.
Lake Anna is an incredible fishery with creel limits of 4 Stripers per day per person over 20 inches, twice what you can keep on the bay. We use circle hooks which allow us to catch and release most of the fish we catch without harming the fish. Fishing is just heating up and will continue to get better the next couple of months. If you want to go Striper catching, contact us for a memorable morning on beautiful Lake Anna. We have the best guides with great electronics and work together to keep our clients busy reeling in Stripers.

Memorial Day on Lake Anna

 Tucker, Anthony and Clayton

Tony, Grandpa Shean, Ken and Nathan
Stripers got a little shook up with all the boat traffic this weekend
but these guys had a ball reeling in fish today.

Let us never forget the more than a million Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen and women who gave their lives to secure our freedoms that we enjoy daily living here in America.
