Today I had a charter and Bryan took some friends out from the dealership where he bought his new truck, Sheehy Toyota of Fredricksburg. After catching bait we picked up our crews and went looking for schools. I located a school off of a drop off and we set up on them. Little did my clients know this was a precursor to what they were going to experience this morning. We caught 15 or 20 real quick but there were a lot of punks biting so I decided to move on. The lake is about a month behind, a lot of Stripers did not spawn and are absorbing their eggs and sperm consequently the larger fish have been scarce and the smaller non spawning Stripers have been dominate. I was not seeing a lot of fish up lake so we went down and tripped over a massive school and the madness ensued. After 45 minutes of chaos I left that school and went looking for others. We found 3 or 4 more schools and had a ball, ending up catching our limits of four Stripers over 20 inches each. The crew on Bryan's boat were enjoying the fishing as well as we were, we could hear the kids screaming across the lake when numerous rods would hook up. What a great morning of fishing on beautiful Lake Anna.
Now the Stripers are coming out of their spawning stage
the action is going to heat up and I expect June fishing will
be incredible. To reserve a charter, Contact:
