Today we had four boats out on Lake Anna hunting Stripers. We all started pulling boards this morning hoping the fish would be shallow with the low light conditions we were having. After an hour of fishing shallow with no keepers we all decided to go hunting and try to put a pattern together. Eventually Don caught a couple keepers and called me to tell me what the pattern was so it was time to have some fun. We were dialed in now and for the next few hours we laid the smack down on the Stripers. This morning between the four boats we caught over 200 Stripers releasing more than 150 fish to fight again. Lake Anna is starting to turn on and I expect for the next couple months fishing will improve daily. Traditionally the months of May, June and July are hard to beat. It is not uncommon for us to catch over 100 Stripers per boat a morning. This is a great fishery which is managed very well by the VDGIF. Limits are very generous, an angler can keep four Stripers or Hybrids over 20 inches per day. With the moratorium on Stripers in the Va. tidal waters in effect Lake Anna is sure to be a great destination for Striper anglers this year. If you would like to come out and have fun fishing for Stripers on beautiful Lake Anna, contact us to reserve a charter at:
