Boys day out

The Mohr Boys...Emery, Granddad Joe, Dillon and Brian

Boys are content in PaPa's arms

 Michael and Anthony

Anthony with nice Bass early in the morning

Sunny and Hot, Water Temperature 82* and Clear
Today we took the boys out for a couple of hours this morning. We knew it was going to get hot so we hit the water early so we could get off before the sun cooked us. What a great way to spend time with family, go out and catch 50 Stripers before 10 o'clock. After the boys were tired of reeling in fish they took a quick swim before returning to the dock. Just because it is summer the fish do not quit feeding, they gorge themselves the first 3 or 4 hours of the morning and again the last couple hours of the day. Mid day sucks, better to be in air conditioning. Call and book a half day or 3/4 day charter with us while we still have some openings. Go out in the morning before it gets hot and be back home for lunch, with a cooler of Stripers.

Hi Jim, I was looking at some of your old Blogs. When you ran Lowrance an you had it on auto +1 can you tell me about +1 on auto an what it does. Thank you Jeff

Hi Jeff.
The auto +1 that you are referring to is my sensitivity or gain, both the same thing. When you enable the auto function it automatically sets at an average sensitivity to view most objects in the water column without too much interference like motor noise, plankton, etc., resulting in a pretty clear picture. I like my gain to be higher which does two things: 1.. I can see more in the water column and distinguish the size of fish and the density of bait schools. 2...The negative is the more gain the more noise that is shown on the screen. I don't mind noise, I never even notice it, I tend to look right through the noise and concentrate on what I am viewing. I often will use auto + 2, 3 or 4 depending on conditions. Play with your settings, yu will be amassed what your unit can do. When the fish aren't biting I am always tinkering with various settings and views to help me be a better guide.
