Vinnie from Ferguson Enterprises

Guide Anthony took Vinnie out this weekend for a morning Striper Trip. They easily caught their limit and got off the water before too many weekend warriors could ruin the fishing for the day. You can see how Vinnie is dressed, they actually had jet skiers in shorts buzzing them!

Not sure why anyone fishes with you the way you talk about others that enjoy fishing on the lake as you do. Sorry that Lake Anna is a public fishing lake that we all enjoy! When it gets renamed Lake Hemby we will be sure to ask your permission before we fish on your lake.

Hey anonymous, People hire me to take them out to learn how to catch Stripers. A major aspect in catching shallow Stripers is any noise from boats or jet skis TURN the fish off. When the fish get spooked my clients don't catch fish. Obviously you are a jet skier and or a weekend warrior with no clue how sound affect fishing. I don't want the lake to myself, it would be a better place for all if people would be considerate of other fisherman and give them a wide birth when passing by a boat that is fishing.

Mr. Hemby,

I AM a weekend warrior and I didn't intend to start a war of words with you. In fact, I enjoy following you and look foward to seeing how successful you are on your fishing trips. Your site is one that some of us weekend warriors look at to see how the fishing on the lake is going. I had always assumed that is part of what you provided with your site. Now I assume that promoting the fishery is not part of your intent with this site. I have limited time to find where I too can be successful in the amount of time I have to devote to the sport that we both enjoy. Fishing on a public lake comes with lots of challenges. I just lose the professional respect when you feel it necessary to always demean everyone else that uses this wonderful public fishery. I know you won't lose sleep over my interpretation of your comments. It's a small lake and unfortunately most of us don't have as much time as you do to devote to it. I have had you run full plane past me when I was fishing in narrow lake areas as well. To me, I have found that is part of fishing on a public lake.

As you explained there are two sides to every story. Unfortunately when we fish in narrow areas of the lake traffic is an issue that we can not do much about. My beef is when any fisherman is fishing whether casting artificials or pulling a big spread like I do and a boater has say 300 to 500 yards that they could avoid the fisherman they run their boat or ski right next to you or over top of our spread, naturally spooking the fish in the area. It is not uncommon for any of our guides to have a side of boards wiped out in areas where it would have been easy for the boater to avoid us. Regarding your reference to my site, my journal is for my clients and public as well, but my devotion and my guides devotion is first and foremost to our clients and their time on the lake. My comments are how I and my clients see it, referring to the few inconsiderate boaters, not the general public. It is hard to please everyone!
